Keep warm with Darth Vader, Deadpool, MST3K Yule log videos (pictures)

In Star Wars, when a Jedi dies, we honor him by cremating his corpse in a bonfire. Sure, it's a bit morbid as far as Yule logs go, but hey, a fire is a fire. Watch Luke Skywalker burn his dad Darth Vader on a lit funeral pyre. The burning of Darth Vader lasts for five hours, which makes us wonder if the Dark Side could be used as a viable heating source.

In honor of 12 Days of Deadpool over the holidays, fans were treated to new movie trailers, videos of the wisecracking Marvel superhero sipping eggnog, and even some adorkable emojis. We also got a very long video of a flaming bag of crap on a festive doorstep. So it's more of a stool log than a Yule log, but it is a bag on fire for an hour, and that's soothing, right?

Internet cat celebrity Lil Bub has been making festive fireplace videos for a few holiday seasons. In 2013, we spotted the cat purring away in front of a cozy fireplace. The next year, Lil Bub was snuggled in the arms of a human who pet the cat as a fireplace popped and crackled in the background. This year the kitty is snoozing on a tiny sofa near a warm fireplace. If you watch the hourlong Yule log video long enough, weird things start to happen, like Lil Bub disappearing in a puff a smoke then reappearing with other cats hanging out for fun.

Now that we're getting brand-new episodes of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" thanks to a very successful crowdfunding campaign, it makes sense that we should all celebrate by watching the old host Joel and his robot sidekicks Crow and Servo heckle and sing Christmas songs in front of a video of a Yule log.

Somehow watching actor Nick Offerman sip a fine whiskey while you also silently enjoy a roaring fire for 45 minutes is actually very relaxing. Plus he doesn't have to really say anything to show us a good time. Just watching him sit comfortably in his large leather chair -- sometimes moving around to get a better sitting position -- is like staring at his "Parks and Recreation" character Ron Swanson in his natural habitat.

Leave it to Hallmark Movies to come up with a three-hour video featuring a cat and dog getting along in the same pet bed in front of a roaring fireplace. The room is decorated with ivy, bows, lights, stockings and of course a Christmas tree. The video also plays nonstop traditional holiday music. Occasionally, we'll see a close-up of the fire or the tree. But for the most part, this is a video of two pets waiting around for Santa to make an appearance. If you prefer your Yule log with pets but without Christmas music, there's a video for that too.

The night before Christmas there might not have been any creature stirring, but afterward this adorable hamster was having a blast sniffing tiny presents by his pint-size Christmas tree. This hamster also has his own miniature fireplace. But sadly, this little fella has too much energy to relax and he's rushing from one part of the room to the next, while listening to festive Christmas music.

Just when you think your Yule log search couldn't get weirder, here's a video of the hosts of the reality house-renovation HGTV show "Property Brothers" hanging out in front of a fireplace for an hour while wearing ugly Christmas sweaters. Nope, not creepy at all; especially when one of them starts hitting the other with a toy elf doll. It almost feels like watching a descent into madness after watching the twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott play paddy-cake and have a thumb war. This might be sexy for some of their fans, but it also could double as an artsy, albeit low-budget, Werner Herzog film.
