PARIS -- Jaguar showed off its new XE model at the 2014 Paris Motor Show here, after an early unveiling in London.
A premium sedan, the XE model features Jaguar styling elements such as a wire grille and a very raked rear window.
Competing in the mid-size sedan segment, the XE is a new entry-level car for Jaguar.
A rear-drive car, the XE uses aluminum in 75 percent of its body and suspension, bringing the weight down to 3,670 pounds (1,665 kg).
Headlight casings include Jaguar's "J" parking light pattern.
20-inch wheels are shown on this performance-oriented XE S model.
The XE will come with a variety of engine options. Shown here is the 2-liter four-cylinder, turbocharged to make 240 horsepower. The XE S model will come with a supercharged 3-liter V-6 generating 340 horsepower.
Jaguar will also offer a 2-liter four-cylinder making just 200 horsepower, along with two diesel engines.
The driver-focused cockpit includes Jaguar's premium appointments.

The new infotainment system shows four tiles on an 8-inch touchscreen.
The map quality looks good, although not as refined as those from BMW or Audi.
