The Create 2 puts a fresh spin on robotics (pictures)

iRobot's $200 Create 2 was designed as a teaching tool.

It was built on a Roomba 600-series platform.

That way, it retains the design and maneuvering capabilities of a Roomba.

Interestingly, though, it doesn't have any of the Roomba's vacuuming capabilities.

The Create 2 is a "blank slate," made specifically for students interested in robotics programming.

This provides students with a hands-on opportunity to develop skills in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.
