IoSafe Rugged Portable demo (photos)
IoSafe used a shotgun to demo the resilience of its new Rugged Portable drive. It's the first of its kind that can withstand tremendously harsh conditions while still being compact and portable.
Prior to the demo, Robb Moore, CEO of IoSafe, took a few photos and loaded them on the demo Rugged Portable drive.
The IoSafe Rugged Portable and one of the shotgun rounds used for the demo.
The drive was first submerged in water.
It was then reeled up and taken to the firing range.
Here it was an easy target.
The shotgun used for the demo was a Remington 12 Ga Shotgun; the ammo was Winchester Expert Game Load Steel shots.
And the firing began...
And more firing.
And even more firing.
The drive, now riddled with bullet hole, was reeled back.
Moore then slammed it on the floor really hard.
Then he tried to crush it.
The drive, after having been shot at, slammed on the floor, crushed, and submerged in water, was plugged back into the computer.
And it still worked with the blue light blinking.
And the original images were still there. The drive was actually still usable and fully functional.
