Hyperlapse shoots time-lapse video on the fly (pictures)

Hailing from Instagram, Hyperlapse can shoot videos with a time-lapse effect, where your video is played back at a faster speed. This creates cool effects when you're recording areas with lots of movements, such as a city street or soccer game.

The iOS-only app has a super simple design and recording controls.

The main screen of the app shows your camera viewfinder. From here, you start recording by tapping the big white button. The big number button shows how many videos you have saved to edit.

When you're finished recording a video, you can pick how fast you want it to play, between one and 12 times the original speed.

The standout feature of Hyperlapse is that the app has built-in stabilization features that keep your shot steady, even if you shake your phone while you record. On the editing screen, you can press and hold to see how your video looks without stablization.

Hyperlapse will tell you if the lighting in your recording area isn't that great. You can also tap the screen while recording to adjust the lighting or focus.

You can record multiple videos and edit them later, or delete anything you don't want.

Once you're satisfied with your video, you can save it to your phone and then share it on Facebook and Instagram. You'll want to share it to Instagram if you want to add filters or lighting effects, since the app doesn't have them built-in.
