Why You Can Trust CNET Huawei MediaPad M5, M5 Pro throw a curve at the tablet market
The 8.4- and 10.8-inch tablets are made for watching video on their curved screens.
Huawei's MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro, which debuted at MWC 2018, now have price and shipping details: They're now available via Amazon and Newegg. In space gray, the 8.4-inch is $320 (£269) and the 10.8-inch Pro is $360 (£329), while the 10.8-inch Pro in champagne gold is $450 (£480). Only the 8.4-inch has hit Australia so far, at AU$646.
The 8.4-inch M5 makes for a nice, all-purpose Android tablet.
There are cameras on front and back.
The company's ClariVu technology improves picture quality by intelligently adjusting contrast.
The Home button is also a fingerprint sensor.
Volume controls for the M5's stereo speakers are on the side.
The front camera is 8 megapixels with an f2.2 aperture.
The curved-edge 2.5D glass makes it more comfortable to hold.

The 10.8-inch model, known as the MediaPad M5 Pro, has four speakers and comes with a stylus.

The Huawei M Pen stylus has 4,096-level pressure sensitivity and lasts 50 days on a full charge. It charges via USB-C.
The M5 Pro is designed to be used in landscape while the M5 is great for both.
The 82 percent screen-to-body ratio gives you a wider view in a smaller size.
