Android for purists
The Huawei Ideos X5 is an Android 2.2 smartphone that has none of the graphical adornments that can complicate the Android interface or cause carrier update delays to a new operating system.
Display
A 3.8-inch capacitive touch screen shows off a nice WVGA resolution (800x480 pixels).
Camera
There's a 5-megapixel shooter on the Ideos X5, and it'll capture and play back video at 720p.
No shutter button
Unfortunately, there's no hardware camera button on either spine.
Photo quality
Photos were fairly sharp but a little dull until we adjusted the software or flooded the lens with light.
