Say hello to Huawei's latest flagship beast of a phone, the Ascend Mate 7.

This giant phone has a 6-inch display with a whopping 2,560x1,600-pixel resolution, an octa-core processor, fingerprint scanner and a slick metal body.

There's no word yet on precisely how much the phone will cost, but it's safe to assume it won't have a bargain basement price.

The phone is clad in an all-metal jacket which looks great and feels pretty luxurious to hold.

At 6-inches, this phone is no friend of the pocket, but it's still very slim.

Beneath the camera is a fingerprint scanner. Huawei reckons it can recognise your print, whichever angle you press it down.

It's running on an octa-core processor, which is made up of two quad-core chip -- one to tackle demanding tasks and one to take care of the day to day activities.

The rear camera has a 13-megapixel resolution and an f/2.0 aperture which should make it good in low-light situations.

There's an 8-megapixel front-facing camera too -- ideal for getting those brilliant selfies.

It has milled edges which are very reminiscent of HTC's One Max -- as is the positioning of the fingerprint scanner and in fact, most of the design.

The micro USB port is tucked into the bottom.

The display has a very slim bezel, so the body hasn't needed to balloon out too much to fit in that huge screen.

The display has a 2,560x1,600-pixel resolution which makes things look extremely crisp. It's bright too and seemed to have decent colours too.

The top of the phone is where you'll find the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The metal chassis feels good to hold -- whether you prefer it to the plastic back of Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 is up to your personal taste!
