HTC Tilt 2

The HTC Tilt 2 is AT&T's version of the HTC Touch Pro2. Unlike the T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint versions of the smartphone, the Tilt 2 ships with Windows Mobile 6.5 out of the box. It is available now for $299.99 with a two-year contract.

Tilting screen

True to its name, the Tilt 2 features a screen that tilts 40 degrees. The display itself measures 3.6 inches and shows 65,000 colors at WVGA (480x800 pixels) resolution.

Design

Of all the Touch Pro2 models, the Tilt 2 most closely resembles the unlocked version of the smartphone, as it features the same speaker and camera layout on the back and the sexy chrome edges and smoky, mirrored face.

Pocketful

The HTC Tilt 2 measures 4.54 inches tall by 2.33 inches wide by 0.65 inch thick and weighs 6.3 ounces, so it's definitely bulkier than most smartphones out there.

QWERTY keyboard

The Tilt 2/Touch Pro2 continues to offer one of the best QWERTY keyboards on a smartphone, with large buttons and a spacious layout. AT&T's keyboard is a bit different, however, in that the top row of buttons are set aside for symbols, while numbers are doubled up with the letter keys on the right half of the keyboard.

Jacked

Unfortunately, like the T-Mobile and unlocked models, the Tilt 2 lacks a standard 3.5mm jack. Instead, you'll have to use the included audio adapter to plug in your favorite headphones or earbuds.

Expandable memory

The Tilt 2 has up to 32GB of expandable memory while offering 512MB ROM/288MB RAM. The expansion slot is located behind the battery door on the right side.

Camera and speakerphone

The Tilt 2 features a 3.2-megapixel camera and HTC's Straight Talk Technology, which was designed to enhance speakerphone quality and better integrate conference calling into the phone's contact management system.

Disappointing picture quality

While the 3.2-megapixel camera is a slight upgrade over the original AT&T Tilt, picture quality wasn't all that great. There's a bit of shutter lag and colors were dull.
