HTC Snap
It's been a long time since we've seen a sleek QWERTY device from HTC (think T-Mobile Dash), so we were happy that the company introduced the HTC Snap at CTIA 2009. The smartphone is designed to help users manage their e-mail and easily access the most important messages with a single press of a button.
Features and availability
The HTC Snap will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard Edition and includes integrated GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, and Wi-Fi. The smartphone is expected to be available in select channels during Q2 2009 and will be rolled out to the rest of the world during the second half of the year. The U.S. will get its own version, called the HTC S522, during the summer with support for 850/1900MHz HSDPA bands. Pricing has not yet been revealed.
Inner Circle
The Snap also includes HTC's latest technology called Inner Circle. The feature lets you bring e-mails from a preselected group of people to the top of your in-box with just a press of the dedicated Inner Circle button.
Lean, mean, messaging machine
The HTC Snap measures 4.59 inches tall by 2.42 inches wide by 0.47 inch thick and weighs 4.23 ounces.
Display and keyboard
The HTC Snap's QWERTY keyboard features domed keys and tactile feedback. The smartphone's QVGA display measure 2.4 inches diagonally with a 320x240-pixel resolution. You also get a standard navigation array below it, including a trackball navigator.
Snap shot
The HTC Snap is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. The smartphone has 256MB ROM/192MB RAM and comes with a microSD/SDHC expansion slot.
