HTC Sensation 4G

On June 15, T-Mobile will launch its latest Android smartphone, the HTC Sensation 4G. The Gingerbread-based device will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Features

The Sensation 4G offers a solid set of features, including Qualcomm's 1.2GHz dual-core processor and the latest version of HTC Sense, which brings some great enhancements. This includes a new lock screen that provides easier access to your favorite applications and content.

Design

We're used to HTC making great hardware, but even we were blown away by the Sensation 4G. The smartphone features a gorgeous 4.3-inch qHD Super LCD, and unlike other 4.3-inch touch devices, the Sensation is quite sleek and the tapered edges make it more comfortable in the hand.

Left side

This image gives you a better idea of how slim the device is for a 4.3-inch smartphone. A volume rocker and a Micro-USB port are on the left side, and there are no controls on the right.

The top of the phone houses the 3.5mm headphone jack and power button.

Camera

On the back, you'll find the Sensation 4G's 8-megapixel camera and dual-LED flash. With the dual-core processor, the smartphone can capture and play back 1080p HD video. There is also a front-facing VGA camera for video calls.

Picture quality

We haven't had the best experience with HTC's camera phones, so we feared the Sensation 4G would be similar. However, picture quality was great.
