HP's 2017 Omen range looks wilder than last year's machines.
The two-tone top is decorated with carbon fibre and HP's blood-red Omen logo.
It's real nice.
Its keyboard is backlit with red lights, in case you forgot you were using a gaming laptop.
It's not as thin as a Razer Blade or an ROG Zephyrus, but it's not nearly as bulky as most other powerful machines.
It can be configured with a Nvidia GeForce 1060 GPU, so it's good to go with VR.
The keyboard is comfortable to use, and its well-sized trackpad is nice and responsive.
I wouldn't call it super portable, but it won't break your back either.
The frame slops inward under the ports, so the part where you'll grip it while carrying it about is thinner that the main body.
