Coming soon: More Siri-compatible smart-home gadgets (pictures)
At an event in New York, we got a close look at some of the devices that'll work with Apple's iOS-based smart-home platform later this year.
Chamberlain MyQ Garage
Chamberlain, iDevices, and Schlage were three of the first manufacturers to jump in with HomeKit, Apple's iOS-based smart home platform. The three had hardware on display for the press at an event in New York City -- Chamberlain was up first, with the HomeKit-friendly MyQ Garage controller.
Chamberlain MyQ Garage
MyQ Garage consists of two components: a base station that attaches to your garage ceiling, and a smaller component that you stick right to the garage door itself.

The MyQ Garage already lets you open and close your garage remotely using your smartphone. With HomeKit in the picture, you'll be able to control things using Siri-powered voice commands.

Chamberlain MyQ Garage retails for $130.
iDevices Switch
Next up: iDevices, makers of a switch that promises to connect anything with a plug on it to Apple's smart-home ecosystem.
iDevices Switch
The product is the iDevices Switch. You'll plug it in, then connect it with a smartphone app over Wi-Fi.

From there, just plug something else into it. You'll be able to switch it on and off from the smartphone app, or automate when you want it to turn on and off. You can also just tell Siri to "flip the Switch."
iDevices Switch
There's also a physical button on the side of the Switch for good ol' fashioned manual control.
iDevices Switch
You can also customize the color of the lights on the front of the Switch.
iDevices Switch
Expect to see the iDevices Switch on shelves by October, at a price of about $50.
Schlage Sense
Lock-maker Schlage rounds out the trio, with a new HomeKit-compatible "Schlage Sense Deadbolt" set to lock up Apple-powered smart homes.
Schlage Sense
Schlage's smart deadbolts have been around for a few years and feature touchscreens on the front for coded entry.

Here's the inside of the lock. It's a lot bigger, because it houses the four AA batteries that keep the thing powered.

If those batteries run low, you'll receive a notification on your smartphone. You can also lock and unlock the deadbolt remotely, or assign user-specific codes.
Schlage Sense
With HomeKit in play, you'll be able to tell Siri to lock the door.
Schlage Sense
The lock comes in a number of styles and finishes.

The same goes for the interior. Like the other products, expect to see it on sale this fall, with a price falling somewhere between $200 and $300.
