Hands-on with the TomTom Ease (photos)
We were able to get our hands on the TomTom Ease at CES 2010 and we have the pictures to prove it.
TomTom Ease
The Ease is TomTom's newest entry-level portable navigation device. It features simplified hardware and software.
3.5-inch screen
After spending so much time with 4.3-inch navigation units, we'd forgotten how small a 3.5-inch screen feels in hand. Fortunately, text-to-speech directions mean that you'll spend less time squinting at the display and more time watching the road.
Two colors available
The Ease is available in black and white, but there are unconfirmed rumors of swappable color skins, similar to the European TomTom Start.
Profile
Though at first we thought that the Ease's EasyPort mount would allow the suction cup to sit flush with the device's chassis, we can see that this isn't exactly the case. Still the Ease is pretty thin, all things considered.
EasyPort mount
Here's another look at the Ease's EasyPort mount.
Ease vs. XXL 540S
Just for kicks, we put the minuscule Ease up against the gargantuan TomTom XXL 540S with its 5-inch screen.
