Google Wifi: The first Wi-Fi system that won't empty your wallet
Announced at Google's launch event in San Francisco, the Google Wifi is the first Wi-Fi system on the market that costs less than $300. You can also get a single unit for just $129.
100 percent Google
The Google Wifi is the first router made entirely by Google. Two previous Google OnHub routers were made by TP-Link and Asus. Google was only responsible for their software.
Compact design
The new router is compact and comes with an elegant design that can blend in with the furniture of a home.
A Wi-Fi system by itself or in groups
The Google Wifi can operate as a single router ($129) for a small home. If you have a larger space, however, you can get a system made up of three identical units ($299.) The additional two units will function as wireless access points to automatically increase your network's Wi-Fi coverage.
Available by the holidays
The new Google Wifi is slated to ship in early December, with preorder starting in November.
