The main menu gives you an in-box for managing your Google Voice text and voice messages.

Message in-box
You can favorite, read, and play messages from the in-box. Since Google Voice is visual voice mail, the chronology makes no difference. Pulling down the entire screen with your finger manually refreshes the list.

Priority voice mail
The bifurcated Contacts screen has one view for all contacts and a filtered view where you'll see a list of favorite callers and recent calls for faster selection.

Unknown numbers

Texting
Texting looked good within Google Voice, although as my colleague Rafe noticed, messages often appeared in our iPhone text in-box in addition to the in-box on the Google Voice app.
