Get your hot-hatch on with the Volkswagen Up GTI concept
Built to pay homage to the original Golf GTI, the Up GTI is both quicker and faster than the O.G. hot hatch, even with a three-cylinder engine.
What better way to commemorate the original hot hatch than with a new one?
Its diminutive 1.0-liter I3 puts out 113 horsepower (115 metric horsepower, or PS), which is 5 more than the original Golf GTI.
It's quicker to 62 mph than the O.G. GTI by 0.2 second.
It's also faster, with a top speed some 9 mph higher than the first-gen Golf GTI.
And, of course, there are plaid seats inside. It would be heretical to not include those.
