Genesis shines up G80 Sport with new colors, copper accents

Genesis, a new company launched by Hyundai as its luxury division, currently sells two cars, the G80 and G90. The G80 Sport is a variant of the former.

While very similar to the base G80 sedan, the G80 Sport gets a separate engine, adaptive suspension and cosmetic touches to set it apart.

The cross-hatch grille is unique to the G80 Sport in the Genesis lineup. Adaptive LED headlights come standard.

Lower air intakes are also unique to the G80 Sport.

The Genesis badge looks elegant at the front of the car.

Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged direct injection 3.3-liter V6 engine good for 365 horsepower, and shared with the larger G90 sedan.

The adaptive suspension firms up when the car is put in Sport mode.

A midsize sedan, the G80 Sport comfortably carries five passengers.

This color, called Siberian Ice, is one of three colors unique to the G80 Sport.

Copper accents on wheel hubs, grille frame and in the headlight casings visually set the G80 Sport apart.

As a sport sedan, the G80 Sport isn't quite as competent as a BMW M car or Mercedes-AMG.

These 19-inch wheels come standard on the G80 Sport.

The G80 Sport is available in rear-wheel- or all-wheel-drive.

Drive modes include Eco, Normal and Sport.

Quad tailpipes look aggressive and deliver a nice sound under acceleration.
