The Flir One brings the heat (pictures)
The $250 Flir One camera accessory attaches to your phone or tablet for on-the-go thermal imaging capabilities at a fraction of the typical price.
The second-generation Flir One for iOS is a thermal-imaging camera that captures photos and videos of whatever passes within its field of view (an Android version is also available).
Simply plug the camera into any Lightning-connector-enabled iOS device, which includes the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as well as various iPad, iPad Mini and iPad Air models.
Then press the power button and launch the app for immediate access to temperature heat-map images.
The Flir One is small and simple to connect to your compatible iOS device of choice, but you will have to remove most phone or tablet cases before installation.
This pint-sized mobile accessory will set you back $250 in the US and £200 in the UK.
The second-gen Flir One (for iOS) is currently available for pre-order in Australia at the US price of $250 (that's roughly AU$335 at the current exchange rate).
