Find (and dominate) new roads in the hydrogen-powered Colorado ZH2

You might not be able to tell that there's a Chevrolet Colorado under there.

This is the Colorado ZH2, a machine built for more than looking good.

The US Army will use this truck to determine how well fuel cell vehicles can function in the Army's operating environments.

Under the hood lies a hydrogen fuel cell, in lieu of a traditional gas engine.

There are no power figures available, but like other fuel cells, it's nearly silent and has just one byproduct -- water.

The ZH2 rides on a stretched version of the Colorado's frame.

It's more than 6.5 feet tall and 7 feet wide.

It has a Multimatic DSSV suspension setup, which helps it tackle all sorts of gnarly terrain.

After a morning spent thrashing around in this thing, I can confirm that it performs as well as you might think.

If only the regular Colorado looked this badass.
