Elgato EyeTV HD (photos)
Take a closer look at the Elgato EyeTV HD, a DVR interface made for the Mac that can stream video to an Apple iPad.
EyeTV HD is a full-featured digital video recorder (DVR) that
connects to a cable or satellite box and enables the user to watch,
record, edit, and enjoy all their premium content on their Mac.
EyeTV HD features component inputs for HD sources, as well as Svideo
and composite inputs for standard-definition sources. It includes an infrared remote channel changer cable (aka "IR
blaster") for automatic control of the set top box.
After the simple setup, the user will be able to watch, record, and
edit all their favorite TV content on their Mac. They can also easily
sync their recording with their iPhone, iPod, iPad, or Apple TV.
With the optional iPhone/iPad app, EyeTV HD owners can watch
live or recorded TV streamed to their iPhones or iPads.
The EyeTV app works together with the
EyeTV software (and compatible tuner)
running on your Mac at home to deliver streaming
video content to your iPhone or
iPad.
The EyeTV HD app divides recordings into two tabs: Movies, and TV Shows.
Multiple episodes of a TV Show series are grouped together in the EyeTV HD app.
