Giving the SousVide Supreme a go (pictures)
Eades Appliance Technology's $429 SousVide Supreme makes fine food, but it's an awfully high price to pay when an immersion model can do the job for much less.
The Eades Appliance Technology SousVide Supreme costs $429 in the US, £350 in the UK and AU$500 in Australia.
You can view the current water temperature on the display.
The handles on the lid make it easy to lift.
There are also handles on the base for lifting the entire unit.
It comes with stainless-steel accessories that make it easier to arrange and remove the vacuum-sealed bags.
It has a max capacity of 2.6 gallons (10 liters).
That means that you can fit quite a bit of food in this thing.
That also means that it will take up quite a bit of counter space.
The lid feels flimsy, but does actually hold in the heat very well.
This model doesn't have a built-in drain, so you'll have to carry the whole thing to the sink and tip it over to empty the water.
This model performed better than the Caso SousVide Center, although it has fewer features overall.
