'The Angry Birds Movie'
Animation. Birds. Pigs. What more do you need to know? "The Angry Birds Movie" draws from the eponymous games to offer the usual kid-friendly blend of action, adventure and peaceful conflict resolution.
'Kung Fu Panda 3'
The titular hero is back for round 3. Reunited with his biological dad, Po sets off on a new adventure that finally gives fans what they really want: a whole army of pandas.
'Chicken Run'
Who doesn't love a good prison escape? Especially when the prisoners are chickens? The woefully underrated "Chicken Run" has plenty of slapstick to amuse kids and plenty of clever references to please parents.
'Dragons: Race to the Edge'
Dreamworks' popular "How to Train Your Dragon" returns as a Netflix-original series set before the events of the second movie. Kids can enjoy three complete seasons' worth of Hiccup and Toothless.
'Hotel Transylvania 2'
Not that anyone was really clamoring for a sequel to Adam Sandler's modest hit, but the gang is back with a hotel open to human guests. Think they'll have a bloody good time?
'Minions'
Never mind that critical response to "Minions" was lukewarm at best. The scene-stealing stars of the "Despicable Me" movies are tiny, yellow and adorable, so kids will have no problem overlooking the weak plot and bland gags.
'The Penguins of Madagascar'
Never mind that critical response to "The Penguins of Madagascar" was lukewarm at best. The scene-stealing stars of the "Madagascar" movies are tiny, tuxedoed and adorable, so kids will have no problem overlooking the weak plot and bland gags.
'Spy Kids'
As a parent, this one was tough to sit through; it's really dumb. But a movie about kids who discover their parents are spies, and then have to go rescue them? Your kids will eat it up.
'The Andy Griffith Show'
Yep! Your kids may balk at watching a show that's black-and-white for its first few seasons, but with any luck they'll give it a chance. Come for the adorable Ronny Howard, stay for the wholesome entertainment.
'The Flash'
"The Flash" is not only one of the best comics-to-TV adaptations, it's also one of the most kid-friendly. Sure, there's lots of action, and definitely some violence in the form of fight scenes, but this show is all about family, friendship and doing the right thing.
'Voltron: Legendary Defender'
Netflix resurrected the 1980s classic about Earth kids who become pilots for robotic lions during an intergalactic war. The last half of that sentence will probably send kids of a certain age into orbit.
