Get to know the Edge

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a cool, new double-curve screen design, but Samsung wants to give you something to look at on that display.

A different display

Samsung created a completely different animal from the Note Edge's always-on interface.

Peek-a-boo

Now, the S6 Edge is hidden from view until you slide out this menu.

Pick your pals

Choose five friends to add to this quick-contacts list. In typically clunky fashion, Samsung calls this feature "People Edge."

Subtle tab

Messages appear at the edge of the display. If you've missed a call or alert, you'll see a sliver of tab in the contact's designated color.

Notifications

Missed notifications appear along the Edge display, but it won't link up to your apps.

Let it glow

If you turn the phone over on the table (say, to be polite during dinner), you can get it to light up the edge in your contact's color so you can see who's calling.

Glow, baby, glow

The light will pulse, then fade.

One more, for effect

The color is apparent when the edge faces you, and only works because of the screen's curve.

Night mode

You can also use the Edge display as a night clock. Pick your hours in the settings.
