The Dell Mini 3 is headed to the States. CNET has a hands-on preview from MWC 2010.

Dell Mini 3

Dell is back in the mobile space with its Android-powered Dell Mini 3. The smartphone is already available in China and Brazil, and at CES 2010, AT&T announced that it would release five Android phones in the first half of 2010, one of which would be the Dell Mini 3.

We only got a few minutes with the phone, but we didn't find it particularly intuitive. The smartphone doesn't have the standard Android UI, and there's no clear indication of how to return to the previous screen or to the Home page.

Sleek hardware

The Mini 3's design is incredibly sleek. The compact handset fits nicely in the palm of your hand and has a slim profile, so it is comfortable to keep in a pants pocket.

Touch screen

Dell hasn't been particularly forthcoming with the specs, but we do know it has 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touch screen. It's bright and crisp, but we've seen sharper.

Keyboard

In landscape mode, we found the virtual QWERTY keyboard pretty easy to use, though in portrait mode things can get pretty cramped.

Camera

On the back, you'll find a 3.1-megapixel camera.
