Cowon C2

The Cowon C2 is a touch-screen portable media player meant to succeed the popular Cowon D2.

Pricing and availability for the C2 have yet to be announced, but it's worth noting that the past versions of the D2 hovered around $150.

The back of the Cowon C2 is covered in a chromed aluminum, similar to an iPod Touch. An integrated speaker is included up in the corner.

The C2 doesn't strike us as the thinnest player on the market, but its size will fit easily in your pocket and its integrated rechargeable battery offers 55 hours of audio playback and 10 hours for video.

The Cowon C2 will be available in a variety of colors (though none has been specifically confirmed for U.S. distribution).

Features of the Cowon C2 include audio and video playback, FM tuner, photo viewer, audio recorder, and support for AV output and microSD memory expansion. The base capacities will be 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB.

Cowon's most widely acknowledged strengths are audio quality and format support. To this end, the C2 includes Cowon's suite of BBE+ audio enhancement settings, as well as a five-band EQ and support for MP3, WMA, FLAC, OGG, APE, and WAV.
