Using a Web interface is the best, most common way to set up and manage a home router, or a home network, for that matter. Here, a collection of common routers' Web interfaces and their default IP addresses and log-in information.

Asus' current Web interface for its routers, including the RT-AC66U, RT-N66U, and RT-N56U.

Default IP address: 192.168.1.1

Default login (Username/Password): admin/admin

Belkin' current Web interface for its routers.

Default IP address: 192.168.2.1

Most Belkin routers don't have a username and the default password is blank.

D-Link's current Web interface for most of its routers.

Default IP address: 192.168.1.1

Default username is admin and the password is blank.

Linksys' Web interface for routers prior to the Linksys EA series.

Default IP address: 192.168.1.1

Default log-in (Username/Password): admin/admin.

Starting with the Linksys EA series, the default log-in information includes a blank username and the word "root" for the password.

Netgear's traditional Web interface for most of its routers released in 2011 and earlier. Starting in 2012, the routers come with a new interface called Netgear Genie, which shares the same default IP address, 192.168.0.1, and the same username/password information, which is admin/password.
