A cozy home theater for Batman, Peyton Manning and Scarface

This is Chris from Columbus, Georgia. In this installment of Show Us Yours, he manages to cram his favorite super heroes, NFL players and movies into a relatively small space. With enough room for his family of four.

"I don't have the luxury of a finished basement (or even an unfinished basement)," he says. "Instead, I have a 13-by-12-foot spare bedroom, and to paraphrase Commissioner Jim Gordon from 'The Dark Knight,' I have to do the best I can with what I have."

"The benefit to having a smaller room is that I only needed one main piece of furniture and was able to allocate the majority of my budget to AV gear and decor. Hope you enjoy!"

The entertainment center is actually three separate pieces (TV Stand and two audio stands) made by the Altra/Ameriwood brand. 

The TV stand also discreetly stores Blu-rays and video games.

The heart of the system (top to bottom): a PlayStation 4, AT&T cable box, Sony Blu-ray player, and Sony STRDH550 5.2 4K AV receiver.

The main furniture of the room. "I like it because the outer two seats recline, and it can fit my family of four," Chris says.

The TV is a Vizio 65-inch E65-C3 Smart TV. "Faced with the choice of size vs. 4K, I chose size," Chris says. "Based on about a 7-foot viewing distance, it's ideal." 

"Other than my actual electronic equipment, my other investment into my home theater was decor," Chris says. "I have a somewhat tri-themed room: movies, Batman, and sports. This is the sports part, autographed jerseys from three of my favorite NFL former players: Michael Vick, Peyton Manning and Lawrence Taylor."

The center channel speaker from the Energy Take Classic 5.1 speaker system. "I was looking for something that 'offers outstanding sound quality for a compact surround-sound speaker system,'" Chris says. "I put that sentence in quotes because it's directly taken from CNET's perfect five-star review of these speakers, which is what ultimately led me to purchase them."

They were about $395 on Amazon when Chris purchased them in 2015. You can now get the package for closer to $300 from Amazon.

More media, most of it for occasions when the TV is turned off.

The back view of the entertainment center. The TV stand is actually an aftermarket universal bracket. "The OEM stands didn't sit the TV high enough, as my center channel speaker blocked the bottom of the screen," Chris says.

So he purchased these, which allowed him to adjust the height of the TV. They also screwed into the mounting holes of the TV, so they actually seem more secure than the plastic factory stands, he explains.

This is the internet router. Chris says he likes having it in his home theater so he can hardwire Ethernet cables directly to his TV and PS4 for faster and more consistent download speeds.

...has remote storage. "I use the Harmony 650 universal remote to control all of my AV except for the PlayStation 4 which requires its own remote," he says.

Chris' final photo is of Logitech's Bluetooth Audio Adapter, which makes his Sony AV Receiver Bluetooth-enabled to wirelessly connect with his phone.
