Google takes on the Echo Show with four new smart displays. These Google Assistant-enabled touchscreens are made for your kitchen countertop and will compete against Amazon's Echo Show.

Heatworks and Frog Design have collaborated on Tetra, a compact, connected dishwasher with 10-minute, half-gallon cycles.

In addition to accessing Alexa and tracking groceries on the semi-translucent touchscreen, the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator will now act as quarterback for your entire connected kitchen.

The Sengled Element Color Plus LED is a $35 smart bulb that changes colors and syncs with both Alexa and Google Assistant.

Whirlpool's internet-connected microwave, which also has touchscreen controls, works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Whirlpool's Smart Front-Control Range, along with other select large appliances, will work with voice-activated Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Large appliance manufacturer Whirlpool introduced its $1,599 Smart All-In-One Care Washer and Dryer at CES last year (roughly £1,180 and AU$2,035 converted). Now it's adding official support for Alexa, Amazon's voice assistant, as well as the Apple Watch.

Fibaro showcased a smart plug that can shut off your devices or flash a warning if they use too much power.

The new Array Smart Deadbolt from Brinks includes Wi-Fi connectivity, Amazon Alexa compatibility and 100 e-Codes for guests. 

The Yummly app uses your phone's camera to identify food and ingredients. It will then send recipes and cooking instructions to compatible Whirlpool ovens and microwaves.

Hub maker and smart home platform Insteon is adding support for Google. With a voice command to your Google Home, Google Pixel or any other device equipped with Google Assistant, you can control your Insteon lights, switches, outlets, plugs and more.

Hunter's connected fans just completed the trifecta of major voice assistants. You could already control them with Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa. At CES, Hunter has just announced integration with Google's digital assistant (simply called Google Assistant).

Security camera startup Canary says its new View indoor home security camera borrows features from its inaugural $169 all-in-one device, but cuts the price to a more affordable $99 (roughly £75 and AU$125 converted). The View camera is available on Canary's site now and is expected to hit major retailers later this month. 

The SkyBell Plug-In camera attaches directly to any wall outlet for power. That also means it's pretty easy to move around the house (without having to worry about battery life). 

Whirlpool announced a new partnership with thermostat maker Honeywell. Honeywell's line of smart thermostats will be integrated into a select number of smart Whirlpool appliances in 2018. Additionally, Whirlpool said this integration would eventually reach over two dozen appliances.

Orbit's new B-hyve Smart Hose Faucet Timer attaches to the other end of the hose, and lets you control your sprinkler with an app.

The iHome iGV1 alarm clock is part Bluetooth speaker, and part Google Home smart speaker.

The iHome iAV5 is a battery-powered speaker dock for the Amazon Echo Dot that can change colors in rhythm with your music.

The Elmer Smart Shower plays your music in surround sound while you bathe. You can also control it with voice commands through Alexa. To top things off, it'll even spray essential oils on you if you want a more fragrant clean.

It looks like a small, bronze submarine, but the Sensio Air wants to be the silver bullet allergy sufferers need before they go outside. It's an allergen tracker that works with an app and sensors placed in various cities to learn what makes your allergies act up, and predict when you'll need to be on guard.

Hanwha Techwin America had two new security cameras on display, the N1 and N2. Both cameras offer local storage via microSD card slot, as well as optional cloud storage. Hanwha Techwin America says the two indoor cams will also work with the Amazon Echo Show starting this spring.

With multiple motion detectors inside of the fixture, the Aladin can light the way for anyone getting up in the middle of the night. If they should fall, the device can send their loved ones a notification telling them that they need help.

Cocoon Cam's Clarity baby monitor deviates from traditional security cameras. At $299, roughly £220/AU$380 converted, the Clarity monitor is priced to compete with the Owlet and Netgear's Arlo Baby. It will be available for sale in the second half of 2018. 

The stylish looking Samsung VL5 speaker features a puck-like magnetic knob that works in a similar way to the Microsoft Surface Dial to control volume. The puck will stick to any magnetic surface and control the volume via a slick dial. The speaker will also feature Wi-Fi connectivity and be controlled with the SmartThings app.

D-Link's DCH-212KT Wire-free Full HD Indoor/Outdoor Camera Kit will be available in Q2 and cost $350 (roughly £260/AU$450 converted). For your money, you get two rechargeable-battery-powered indoor/outdoor cameras and a hub with local internal storage.

The new D-Link DCS-1820LH LTE Full HD Indoor/Outdoor Camera works over Wi-Fi -- and cellular networks.

Alarm.com's newest thermostat wants to read your smart home's mind. The home security provider unveiled its a new, smarter thermostat with safeguards to detect home maintenance issues at the first sign of trouble.

Ecovacs has a new window cleaning robot, the Winbot X, that doesn't need a power cord to run. The robot's effective range and flexibility are enhanced as well since it doesn't need to be near a power outlet to function. 

The Schlage Sense Deadbolt's Google Assistant integration adds to the smart lock's existing connectivity with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. 

Got a bunch of WeMo gadgets? Add the WeMo HomeKit Bridge for $40, and you'll be able to sync them all up with Apple HomeKit and control them using Siri commands.

The HiMirror Mini is an internet-connected smart mirror that includes Alexa, Amazon's voice-activated digital assistant. 

Moen announced that its U by Moen Smart Shower is adding support for both Amazon's Alexa and Siri, the latter via Apple's HomeKit, in the first half of 2018.

The $50 Elgato Eve Button syncs to your HomeKit devices through either your Apple TV or an Apple iPad acting as a hub for your smart home. 

Somfy, maker of the Somfy One ($229.00 at Somfy) all-in-one security system, has a new outdoor camera. While the company has not yet released pricing information for its new outdoor cam, it is expected to be available starting in late 2018. 

Samsung's Family Hub's grocery-tracking fridge cameras are getting an intelligence boost thanks to a new feature called Meal Planner. Enable it, and your refrigerator will recommend recipes based on your family's food preferences, allergies and, thanks to those cameras, the ingredients you have on hand.

The Myteepi Woody is a sensor-packed gadget from French startup Ingenious Things. It monitors for temperature, humidity and motion, plus keeps an ear out for the sound of alarms.

Samsung's QuickDrive washer works with SmartThings and promises to clean your clothes super fast.

The Onelink Safe & Sound combines a smoke and CO detector with either an Alexa- or a Google Assistant-enabled smart speaker.

Carrier has a new Wi-Fi air conditioner you can control straight from your phone. The model is also supposed to sense ambient humidity and make automatic adjustments for improved comfort. An integrated infrared sensor is there to sense motion, too, so it should even be able to tell when you're home or away.

The "Instinct" Wi-Fi light switch features built-in sensors for motion and ambient light, as well as a microphone and speaker for your Alexa commands.

The Dreamlight mask uses light and sound to lull you to sleep. The mask hugs your entire head to get you to relax and get some shut-eye. Plus, its app tracks how well you've slept.

The SimplySmart Home Cube is a wire-free HD home Security Camera with two-way audio and doorbell functionality. 

The Olfinity diffuser works with five different aromatherapy blends made of organic essential oils. 

Huawei has a new mesh home network kit. It's a hybrid 5G-powerline Wi-Fi system called the Huawei WiFi Q2. It pairs base units and satellite repeaters that plug into an ordinary wall outlet.

Sony's Aibo robot dog is back -- and it's cuter than ever. The new Aibo has more personality, too. The Aibo senses its environs, and not just to avoid objects. The little doggie tries its darnedest to mimic the movement and activities of a real pooch.

The Ubtech Walker is a bipedal robot that can walk a security patrol in your home and will respond to your voice commands.

Coravin's new Model Eleven wine saver lets you pour single glasses of wine from bottles without uncorking them. It will also fill the bottle with inert Argon gas to preserve any wine that's left over.

The Solis is much more than an alarm clock. It also has the Google Assistant built in. That means the Solis should be able to do just about everything you can with the Google Home smart speaker.

"Superman vision" sounds like a useful tool to have when monitoring a smart home. Vayyar claims its sensors have just that. By using radio waves and its 3D sensor, Vayyar can map where people are within a room. Since it's not relying on ordinary sight, it can even see through walls and smoke.

The Liftmaster 8500W garage door opener comes with Chamberlain MyQ's Wi-Fi smarts. It mounts to the side of the door in order to help free up space overhead, and includes a built-in deadbolt that automatically locks your garage whenever it's closed.

Electrolux is back with a new front-load washer for 2018 -- the EFLS627S. Due in stores in May, this version adds a redesigned detergent drawer that accepts special soap pods.

Ooma has a next-gen replacement for the original Butterfleye camera (also called Butterfleye). The first Butterfleye was supposed to be able to differentiate between people and pets, as well as pick up on sounds. This device should have the same abilities plus integration with Ooma's other devices. 

Brinks has a new line of security-minded light fixtures called Brinks Home Security Array. They include a coach-style LED light is intended for front porches plus a dual-head security light is meant for yards and side areas.

The Titan AI Robot combines the functionalities of a smart speaker with a touchscreen -- similar to the Amazon Echo Show ($229.99 at Amazon.com). It seeks to stand out though with facial and speech recognition that supposedly help the device interpret your mood and respond accordingly.

Once in place and connected to Wi-Fi, the Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor can send you notifications if you forget to close your garage.
