Big Lebowski cast reunion for Blu-ray release (photos)
With 'The Big Lebowski' coming to Blu-ray, the cast reunited for a night in New York City as part of Lebowski Fest.
Dude's red-carpet reunion
To celebrate and promote the release of the Blu-ray of 'The Big Lebowski' cast members Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, John Turturro, and Julianne Moore reunited on August 16 in New York City. For the red carpet, the promoters cleverly stitched together several copies of the Dude's rug in front of the Hammerstein Ballroom.

The event was part of the Lebowski Fest, which began in 2002. The festival's founders dressed up as bowling pins.

In his element
John Goodman was there in fine form.
Bridges was also there to promote his new self-titled album, "Jeff Bridges."
Shut up, Donny
Steve Buscemi said that when he first read the script for 'Lebowski' he couldn't understand why anybody would want to play his character. Now people constantly come up to him and politely tell him to "Shut up, Donny."
Zesty
Julianne Moore was one of the five cast members who appeared at the event.

T Bone Burnett
T Bone Burnett was involved with the music for 'The Big Lebowski.' He was also there to help promote Jeff Bridges' new album that he produced.
Lebowski Fest posters were doing brisk sales at the event.
The real Dude
The Coen brothers based the character of The Dude on Jeff Dowd, who now appears regularly at Lebowski Fests.
The fans
As with any Lebowski Fest, plenty of fans came in costume.
Walter and The Dude.
This guy lives year-round as The Dude. Or at least we think so.
Little Larry's homework
One fan came dressed as Little Larry's homework, a key piece of evidence in the movie.
Liam
The guy who played Jesus Quintana's bowling partner (Liam O'Brien) in the movie regularly attends Lebowski Fest. He had no lines in the movie but got a rousing ovation from fans.

Over 1,500 people jammed into the Hammerstein Ballroom for the event, which featured an onstage interview with the cast and a showing of the movie. The event sold out in a couple of hours.
The Jesus
John Turturro takes the stage. He was only on the set for a day to shoot his scenes, yet The Jesus remains one of his most enduring roles along with Barton Fink.
The fans go wild.
John Goodman taking in the fans. The actors were a little bit stunned by the reception they got.
At the end on the mostly hysterical interview, the cast posed for shots on stage.
Goodman going to shake the hand of the guy who played Liam O'Brien in the movie. He hadn't seen him since the movie was shot.
John Turturro also said hello to his former bowling partner.
The Dude abides
There will be no Lebowski sequel, but Bridges joked about a prequel. When asked what message people should take away from the movie, he said, "That's just your opinion, man."
