Aviate

Aviate is a free Android launcher that transforms your home screen to show the apps it thinks are useful, depending on where you are and the time of day. It does that by grouping your apps into themed collections, and then surfaces those collections onto your home screen when the time or location is right.

Home screen

Aviate's home screen is simple and streamlined, with a row of your favorite apps at the bottom and a space for a photo about that.

Spaces

A big part of Aviate is called Spaces, special pages with apps and widgets that show up at different times of day or when you arrive at the office or get home. Above is the work Space, which has shortcuts to your email and calendar apps, as well as a list of upcoming events.

App collections

Aviate organizes your existing apps into themed collections, including Social, Photography, Entertainment, Games, Studying, and News. You can edit these collections, adding different apps or hiding collections you don't use, but you cannot create your own collection from scratch.

Alphabetical app drawer

All of you apps also live in an alphabetical list on one home screen, and there's a handy search bar.

Favorite contacts

If you swipe up from the bottom of your home screen, you'll reveal a menu of your favorite contacts and recently dialed phone numbers. You can customize which contacts show up here.
