August's bargain Smart Lock does all of the basics
August's $149 Smart Lock isn't HomeKit- or Z-Wave-enabled, but it still manages to impress.
Here's August's new $149 Smart Lock.
It has a very different design than August's previous locks.
It has an integrated thumb latch so you can manually lock and unlock the door.
It also has a sleeker, more minimal profile.
But it installs in much the same way as previous models.
It retrofits over most standard deadbolts.
Four AA batteries go in the top.
August's Smart Lock also comes with DoorSense.
DoorSense is a door/window sensor that lets you know if the door is open or closed.
This model doesn't work with Apple HomeKit or Z-Wave.
