The Palm Pixi Plus will be available from AT&T on June 6 for $49.99 with a two-year contract. Though it's not the fastest or most powerful device, it's a good choice for first-time smartphone buyers.

Petite design
The Pixi Plus has a design that fits its name. The smartphone is compact and lightweight at 4.37 inches tall by 2.17 inches wide by 0.43 inch thick and 3.26 ounces.

Keyboard
One of the trade-offs of having a smaller design is that the keyboard is a bit cramped. With some time, we found that we could type on the Pixi's keyboard comfortably, but users with larger thumbs should definitely take it out for a test drive.

Right side
On the right side, you'll find a volume rocker, a silent ringer switch, and a Micro-USB port, which protected by an attached cover.

Picture quality
Though photos came out mostly clear, we found that indoor shots had a bit of a grayish tone, giving the images a dreary look.
