Fancy an expensive phone to match your expensive supercar? The Aston Martin Racing 808 is an Android smartphone that will go on sale soon with a starting price of $6,000 -- this converts to £3,900 and AU$8,350. If that's not rich enough for you, you can splash out a whopping $30,000 for a 18-karat gold and diamond version.

You're paying a vast sum for this phone, but the hardware isn't exactly cutting edge. The AMR 808 features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The 4.7-inch display has HD resolution, but only just -- it caps out at a meagre 1,280x720 pixels.

The AMR 808 does use some premium materials, however, such as a metal frame, leather back and a 4.7-inch full sapphire glass display. It's powered by a 2,000mAh battery.

The leather rear gives the phone a premium feel, and the metal plate just below the 13-megapixel rear camera is where you'll find the dual SIM card slots.

The power button is supposed to hold a gemstone, but as this is a prototype, the finish is a little lacking.

The final version that's rolling out in a few weeks will be significantly more polished, its maker Primo Mobile promises.

The phone will come bundled with an Aston Martin-branded Bluetooth headset and a portable battery charger.
