Are we there yet? More iOS 6 maps problems (pictures)

It can be hard to find the great outdoors by using Apple's map function in iOS 6.

Which exit?

This side-by-side comparison of Google Maps and Apple's iOS 6 Maps shows the absence of any kind of highway exit markers on the nation's interstates. On the top Google Maps view, we've circled the exit markers in red near the junction of Highway 50 and Interstate 80 in Sacramento, Calif.

Incorrect ZIP codes in San Francisco

Looking to visit us at CNET HQ in San Francisco? You can find us in Apple's iOS 6 maps, but that's not the ZIP code here. It's 94105, not 94107.

Need a hospital?

Looking for medical attention? Don't use the iOS 6 Maps app. A search for hospitals in San Francisco returned this map result, labeled with the red and white cross symbol denoting medical services as the "U Csf Medical Center & Ucsf Children's Hospital" at 1855 Folsom Street. The phone number on the listing called the UCSF Women's Options Center on Sutter Street in San Francisco. The operator there knew of no medical services located at 1855 Folsom Street.

The same location at 1855 Folsom Street in Google Maps is labeled as the "UCSF Mission Center Building", and when I called the phone number listed there, I got the voicemail for the "Mission Center Building's Night Custodial Supervisor".

Sunset Heights Playground

According to the San Francisco Department of Parks and Recreation, there is no Sunset Heights Playground. This mislabeled park is actually called Golden Gate Heights Park.

Looking for United Nations Plaza?

Looking for United Nations Plaza, in the center of downtown San Francisco? A search for "UN Plaza San Francisco" centers you on 1 Plaza Street, miles away from downtown.

Where's the Flatiron Building?

New York, the Big Apple, has so many landmarks you'll want to see while on vacation -- like the Flatiron Building, which has two locations apparently -- one of which is in the middle of 5th Avenue a block away from the actual location.

Alameda Park...ing lot

Across the Bay from San Francisco is Alameda, where you'll not-so-easily find Alameda Park. It's actually not the barren parking lot, the real park is a half mile to the north.

Echo Lake

As you begin to drop down into the Tahoe Basin toward Lake Tahoe, you come to Echo Lake -- mislabeled here as Lily Lake.

Point Reyes Lighthouse

Looking to visit Point Reyes Lighthouse, north of San Francisco? Don't try to find it with iOS 6 Maps. A search for "Point Reyes Lighthouse" finds only the Point Reyes Lighthouse Road (which isn't the name of the road).

Gramercy Park

Want to visit Gramercy Park in New York? You'd be better off just asking someone where to find it. A search in iOS 6 Maps returns a location on 3rd Avenue.

Chelsea Park

Chelsea Park, the park, is no where near the Chelsea Park Corp., which you probably don't want to visit.
