Apple has released a brand-new version of its entry-level white MacBook, which now features a glass multi-touch trackpad, as found on the more expensive aluminium MacBook Pro.
Other new features of the 13-inch model include a backlit keyboard as standard, an apparently more durable unibody plastic design (as opposed to unibody aluminium on the MacBook Pros), and up to 7 hours of battery life. It ships with OS X Snow Leopard.
It runs on a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and the same Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics chip found in the entry-level aluminium MacBook Pro. In our experience, this setup even manages to run games such as Half Life 2 quite well.
The new model is on sale now for £799 from the Apple store (well, it will be when it comes back up). We'll have hands-on reports for you ASAP.
