Apple sets up for Oct. 22 event in San Francisco (pictures)

Apple's event on Tuesday, October 22, in San Francisco is expected to bring new iPads and Macs. Apple's holding the event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater.

The company began decorating the building earlier this week. Here's the progress as of Friday afternoon, local time.

This year's decorations appear to be more complicated than in the past, with the need for scaffolding on top of the usual riser trucks.

Apple has gone with a multicolored front on the theater for the event, unlike WWDC at the nearby Moscone Center, which is typically white and gray.
