The base configuration includes a 2.66GHz Intel Xeon 3500 CPU with 8MB of L3 cache, 3GB of DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 130 graphics, a 640GB hard disk running at 7200rpm, an 18x SuperDrive, no Blu-ray (fail), four PCI Express slots and a MiniDisplay port. This configuration costs £1,899.
You can max out the quad-core Mac Pro with optional upgrades to a 2.93GHz CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 4TB of total hard disk space and a switch to ATI's Radeon HD 4870 GPU for all your graphics needs. This set of turbo boosts will bring the Mac Pro to a shade over £3,050.
An octo-core version includes a pair of quad-core 2.26GHz Intel Xeon 5500 CPUs with 8MB of shared L3 cache, 6GB of DDR3 RAM (expandable to a maximum of 32GB), Nvidia GeForce GT 120 graphics and 640GB 7200rpm hard disk. This config will cost you £2,499.
For more power, the octo-core Mac Pro can cater for twin 2.93GHz CPUs, up to 32GB of RAM, 4TB of hard disk space, and ATI's Radeon HD 4870 CPU. Opt for this configuration and be prepared to slap down £10,419.
