Apple has announced its latest MacBook, a white unibody notebook which now features a multi-touch trackpad and an LED-backlit screen.
The notebook starts at AU$1299 and features a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and the Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphic chipset. The 13.3-inch screen features 1280x800 resolution with a glossy, high-contrast coating.
Networking includes a built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless networking adapter, gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.
As a unibody it features a built-in battery which Apple says is good for seven hours of life. The new body means it's now a little lighter at 2.1kg. Other additions include a non-slip bottom and a 90-degree MagSafe power cable which should make it harder to knock out.
We got our hands on the product and bring you our unboxing.
This is the Apple MacBook box.
The box now features a new springy handle which feels like a lunchbox or something.
Opening the lid reveals the MacBook covered in protective wrap.
Removing the MacBook we can see the OS disk box, plus the power cables and other accessories.

Sitting on the table, the MacBook looks fairly unassuming.
The non-skid bottom means it won't slide around, and makes it harder to accidentally knock off tables.

The large multi-touch trackpad features support for one-, two-, three- and four-fingered gestures.
The slot-loading 8x SuperDrive has support for DVD±R, DL/DVD±RW and CD-RW. Still no SD card reader, though.
You can attach the MagSafe adapter pointing towards you or away from you. Pointing the other way is better as it doesn't block any ports.
From left: MagSafe port, gigabit Ethernet, mini DisplayPort, two USB ports, headphones and Kensigton lock. Interestingly, there is no longer a dedicated headphone port, instead the headphone is now a combined headphone/mic/optical line-out. There is still an on-board mic next to the iSight camera.
