Designed by Analogue Interactive, the same company that encased a NeoGeo MVS in walnut, the Analogue Nt is a love letter to retro gaming that offers all the necessary functionality to replay those experiences on modern-day screens.
The console will cost $499 and is expected to ship late this summer.
The Analogue Nt contains the guts of the original NES -- including the Ricoh 20A3 CPU and Ricoh 2C02 PPU.
That makes it the only NES remake on the market using original components.
The region-free console will have dual-port stereo and mono audio and supports Famicom audio as well.
On the visual front, the Analogue Nt will support RGB, component, S-Video, and composite. There's even an HDMI adapter that will upscale RGB to 720p or 1,080p.
The device will play all NES and Famicom games, as well as Famicom Disk System games via its expansion port.
The Analogue Nt is carved from a solid block of 6061 aluminum alloy, an aircraft-grade metal.
Whether from Japan or the US, all NES and Famicom games will play on the region-free Analogue Nt.
Analogue Interactive is also selling brand-new original NES controllers, refurbished cheaper controllers, and refurbished Famicom controllers to utilize the Nt's four ports for multiplayer.
With an HDMI adapter sold seperately, the Analogue Nt will upscale RGB to 720p or 1,080p and, according to the company, "can even generate scanlines" for an unprecedented level of retro gaming clarity.
Because it uses the controller ports identical to those of the original NES, the Analogue Nt supports all retro accessories like the NES Zapper for games like Duck Hunt.
The console also contains the original Famicom expansion port to support accessories like the Famicom 3D System.
