Meet the Amazon Echo family

Amazon on Thursday launched at least 13 new hardware products at an event hosted at its Seattle headquarters, ranging from a DVR to a microwave oven to a wall clock (yes, really), all with compatibility with its Alexa voice assistant.

Echo Sub

Amazon is adding the ability for many of its Echo speakers to "stereo pair," so if you have two of them, one can be the left channel and one can be the right. And to enhance the bass, there's the new Echo Sub, a $130 subwoofer that adds the ".1" channel to the setup.

Stereo pairing: Connect two Alexa smart speakers to create a stereo pair. Just plug in, open the Alexa app on your phone, and you can connect your Echo devices wirelessly to control music with your voice.
