All of the electric urban aircraft unveiled at Uber Elevate 2018
Uber says it will bring its aerial ride-hailing service to market by 2023. Here's what those future flying cabs may look like...
Uber eCRM-003 concept
At the Uber Elevate Summit in Los Angeles, Uber and its partners showcased a selection of eVTOL aircraft for the upcoming Uber Air aerial ride-hailing service.
Reference model
Uber isn't planning to build the eCRM-003. Rather, this aircraft concept serves as a common reference model or framework around which Uber's partners can design their own aircraft.

The concept makes use of four pairs of co-rotating propellers that provide vertical lift. Once at cruising altitude, the concept reverts to more efficient fixed-wing operation with a single rear rotor providing thrust.

The concept should have a cruising speed of around 150 mph with a max range of around 60 miles per charge.
Embraer X concept
Partner Embraer showcased its Embraer X concept, which builds on the eCRM-003's spec with a more streamlined design.

Interestingly, the Embraer X doesn't seem to use the eCRM's co-rotating rotor design.
Pipistrel eVTOL
Pipistrel is a Slovenian light aircraft manufacturer with a very different take on the eVTOL concept. Its craft, shown here in cruising configuration, is designed around speed and stability. The VTOL hardware is hidden away in this configuration.
Butterfly eVTOL concept
Karem Aircraft is new to the Uber Air partnership. Its eVTOL concept is designed around larger rotors than the rest, a choice Karem says increases efficiency.
