Adidas' miCoach Smart Ball is pricey at $200, £145, but the feedback it provides is invaluable for some players.
Upon opening, the companion app immediately prompts you to kick it and get going.
The ball has 12 separate Bluetooth sensors suspended inside, as well as a charger, but you'd never know it just by looking at it.
Before you practice your shots, line up the top arrows with your target.
Make sure the Adidas logo is facing you, and head back to the app where it says "Tap when ready to kick."
Once you hear a whistle from the app, kick it!
The ball gives you immediate feedback on the speed and spin of your kick.
In addition, the app graphically displays the curve of your shot.
Adidas says the Smart Ball will last for 2,000 kicks -- much more than most people take in a 2-hour practice.
