Back to basics
The Acer Iconia One 7 is an unremarkable 7-inch tablet with simple specs, but if you only have $129 to spend, it's your best bet.
Psychedelic weave
The weaved texture on the back reminds me of smooth balding tires. It feels comfortable, but I didn't like the slippery feel of the finish.
Left edge
One of the Acer Iconia One 7's saving graces is its microSD card slot that's expandable up to 32GB.
Subpar screen
The 7-inch tablet's 1,280x800-pixel resolution is average, however the display has a narrow range of colors. HD images that should be vibrant and colorful look dull and lifeless.
Glare-prone screen
The IPS LCD screen is difficult to see in bright environments. It's prone to reflective glares and its low brightness doesn't help.
Rear speakers
The rear speakers in the back are easily blocked when holding in landscape orientation.
Light, not so thin
The 7-inch inch tablet is lightweight, at only 0.71 pounds (320 grams), but it looks heavier thanks to its thickness.
