A world of Android phones at Google I/O (photos)

CNET shows you the Android phones not currently available with U.S. carriers.

Kent German
Kent was a senior managing editor at CNET News. A veteran of CNET since 2003, he reviewed the first iPhone and worked in both the London and San Francisco offices. When not working, he's planning his next vacation, walking his dog or watching planes land at the airport (yes, really).

Samsung Galaxy Beam

Google I/O attracts attendees from around the world so it's only fitting that it should feature global Android phones as well. Along one wall at San Francisco's Moscone Center, Google displayed a gallery of Android handsets dating back to the G1. Many of the featured handsets are available in the United States, but quite a few can be found only in other countries. Here we present those overseas devices along with a few specs.

The Galaxy Beam's highlight is a small projector. You also get an 8-megapixel camera, a 3.7-inch display, a 3.5mm headset jack, Android 2.1, Samsung's TouchWiz interface, Assisted-GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
