A roomy range from LG (pictures)

This $800 electric range is as affordable as LG ranges get.

Smooth operator

With LG's electric range, you get a smooth cooktop with four burners, including one dual burner that can switch between two sizes.

Open wide

The oven boasts a capacity of 6.3 cubic feet, which gives you plenty of room for that humongous holiday roast.

"IntuiTouch" controls

You'll control both the oven and burners using LG's "IntuiTouch" controls, which is really just a fancy way of saying "buttons."

Burner bummer

This gets a bit tedious with the burners, as you'll need to repeatedly jab at the plus and minus buttons to dial the heat up and down.

Consistent performance

In our test kitchen, the LG range did very well, holding consistent temperatures throughout all of our test recipes. In this single-rack biscuit test, it hovers nicely between 400 degrees Fahrenheit and the target temp of 450.

Multirack woes

You don't get a convection fan with this oven, though, and that means that multirack baking won't yield evenly cooked results.

Price point

The LG LRE3021 retails for $800 (£515, AU$985, roughly converted). That's more expensive than the low-end offerings of other brands, but more affordable than any other range LG sells. Is it a solid buy? Read the full review to find out.
