The 2019 Hyundai Sonata is stylish and affordable
Hyundai's midsize sedan is due for a redesign soon, but there's still lots to like about the current-generation car.
The Hyundai Sonata has been on sale in its current form since 2015.
It received a styling refresh in 2018, so no major changes are in store for 2019.
The Sonata is offered with three four-cylinder engines with power outputs ranging from 178 horsepower to 245 horsepower.
Fuel economy for the most efficient Sonata comes in at 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.
All Sonatas are front-wheel-drive, with base prices from $22,300 to $31,900, plus $885 for destination.
The Sonata's cabin offers plenty of room for up to five occupants plus 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard on a 7-inch touchscreen. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
Higher trim levels offer a proximity-opening trunk that calls for none of the fussy foot-waiving required for other systems.
The highest trim comes with a panoramic sunroof standard.
