2019 Honda Pilot Elite: A smoother, tech-rich crossover SUV

After originally debuting in 2016, the third-generation Honda Pilot receives updates for the 2019 model year. 

On the outside, there's a new front bumper, grille, fog lights and the addition of more chrome trim. 

Out back, the Pilot also gets a new bumper, taillight housings and more chrome accents. 

The big news inside is a fresh slate of technology features that includes a Display Audio system with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring a Wi-Fi hotspot and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. 

The CabinTalk feature from the Honda Odyssey is now also available in the Pilot letting people in front be heard over the rear speakers via the Bluetooth microphone. 

Range-topping Elite trims also include a wireless phone charger now at the base of the center stack.

The Honda Sensing suite of safety technology is now standard on all Honda Pilots that include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning with lane keeping assist.

The 3.5-liter V6 making 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque continues to power all Pilot models. For 2019, the stop-start system has been upgraded to re-fire the engine quicker than before. 

The nine-speed automatic transmission on Touring and Elite versions also gets new tuning for 2019 for smoother launches and gear changes. 

The 2019 Honda Pilot Elite starts at $49,015, which includes $995 for destination.
