2018 BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo tries to make you forget the 5 Series GT

The 6 Series Gran Turismo replaces the 5 Series Gran Turismo in the BMW lineup for the 2018 model year.

Unlike the 5 Series Gran Turismo, the 6 Series Gran Turismo will be offered with just one engine.

A 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder will serve as the only available engine for the 6 Series Gran Turismo.

The only model available in the US will be the 640i xDrive, meaning that the only way you'll be able to get the 6 Series Gran Turismo is with all-wheel drive.

The 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine comes bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

Output for the 3.0-liter turbo six-cylinder is rated at 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

BMW says the 640i xDrive Gran Turismo can hit 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds.

Handling infotainment is the iDrive 6 system that includes standard navigation.

An impressive 31 cubic feet of cargo space is available in the back, which grows to 65 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

The 2018 BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo goes on sale in November and will carry a base price of $69,700.
