2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is ready to rumble in Detroit

Nissan's Rogue Sport slots in between the wild-child Juke and the larger, somewhat more staid Rogue.

The Rogue Sport has been on sale overseas for years, where it has been branded Qashqai.

Wheels are up to 19 inches in size, which is actually larger than the bigger Rogue.

Cargo space is 22.9 cubic feet with the second-row seats up, and 61.1 cubes with them stowed.

LED daytime running lamps come standard with halogen headlamps, but LED low-beam units are optional, too.

SL models like this one come standard with Nissan's excellent Around View Monitor 360-degree camera system, complete with Moving Object Detection tech.

Nissan has yet to announce Rogue Sport pricing.

That's a whole lot easier to say that "Qashqai," right?

Machined-face wheels with black-painted accents are trendy as can be.

Nissan's trademark V-Motion grille is present and accounted for.

Yep, there it is again.

In case you forgot, it's a Nissan.

This paint color, one of 10 shades, is called Monarch Orange.

A flat-bottom wheel is an unusually sporty design cue to find in this segment.

That's a 7-inch color touchscreen with navigation and NissanConnect mobile apps and services, but don't look for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, because you'll be disappointed.

A 2.0-liter engine paired with Nissan's evergreen Xtronic CVT is the only powertrain available in Rogue Sport.

Their are four cylinders. You can count 'em.

Horsepower is listed at 141 and torque a claimed 147 pound feet.

Leather seats are standard on SL trims.
